Staff spotlight: Meet Dan Dimond
Regular readers of our newsletters will know that we’ve recently started our new staff spotlight feature, giving you an insight into the people working behind the scenes to deliver your financial plan.
In our first edition in September, you met Rachel Heeley, a client relationship manager (and a former stage partner of the man who shot Dirty Den in EastEnders!).
This time, another of our client relationship managers, Dan Dimond, is in the hot seat to tell us all about his role here at Cheltenham IFA, and a bit about how he spends his time when he isn’t busy helping clients.
Hi Dan, tell us what your role is at Cheltenham IFA, how long you’ve been here, and what you do day to day.
I’m a client relationship manager and I’ll have been here for 15 years in December.
My job covers paraplanning, adviser support, and client relations. I help advisers prepare for meetings, support clients with their queries, and make sure our processes run smoothly.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy working with the team and the variety of tasks. Every day brings something different.
How do you build relationships and trust with clients, and understand their needs?
It’s all about listening and taking a genuine interest in what the client is saying. That way, I can fully understand their needs and do my best to meet them.
What is a memorable experience or achievement in your career?
I’ve found it rewarding to help new staff settle in and develop their skills. Over the past five years, we’ve taken on new staff and developed them from administrators to paraplanners, all the way to trainee advisers. I really value supporting others as they grow in their roles.
What do you think sets our firm apart in the industry?
I think we really care and take our clients’ expectations and requirements personally.
What are your hopes for the future of our firm and the clients we serve?
I hope that we continue to prioritise the service element of what we offer and continue to provide excellent value to clients.
Now tell us a bit more about you. What are your hobbies and interests outside of work?
I enjoy travelling and spending time with my family.
What is your favourite book or movie and why?
I do not read a lot, at least in terms of fiction. I do enjoy films, although I don’t know if I could pick a favourite as there are so many I’ve really enjoyed.
What is the most interesting place you’ve visited?
I love Italy and would happily move there!

How do you stay motivated and productive?
I still have a mortgage to pay! In all seriousness, I feel a great deal of loyalty to the company and want to ensure that what we offer continues to be first class.
What’s a fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I was looking to join the police in my late teens, and I actually did around a year as a special constable.
Final question – what would you tell clients who are thinking about financial planning services?
Look for a team that listens and puts your interests first. Building trust is key.
Thanks, Dan!
